MURS, one the members of groups: 3 Melancholy Gypsys, Living Legends, and Felt. He released his long awaited album in 2008 called, "MURS for President." Pretty good album. Many producers were on it, including 9th Wonder of course! My favorite track, "The Science." Beats are jazzy. Rap is smooth. Lyrics are political. It's a story that addresses issues like drugs, the government, and the people and how it was turned around to form hip hop. The video was released April of this year and like a president, he's dressed nothing less than a black suit and advocating for the people.
Advertisement for this show were only through word of mouth or on Zia Record's Myspace. I couldn't turn down this free Murs show.... even if I would be by myself! So I didn't. Got there quite early. Stood in the front. And watched a fkn great show. MURS' name stands for "Making Underground Raw Shit" and through all the years he truly tries to live by that name! He is raw! And although he signed with Warner Bros., he still gives out that underground feel in his music.

Can't wait for that Felt 3 album. AND it's a tribute to...Rosie Perez.
Have you checked out the new City Lights Vol. 2: Shibuya and the Mayer Hawthorne LP? That's somethin' that you should check out.
Hey bT,
ohhh Felt 3 is gonna be a tribute to Roise Perez. i didnt know that. thanks.
yeah, Hawtorne's album has been on repeat since last month. i downloaded the leak. but i have yet to own the real cd. I preordered the Foreign Exchange/Nicolay's album so i should be expecting it tmrw! but i heard their album.... i love it too!
i see how we can forget all the old stuff with all the new stuff coming on.
thanks for the love!
No problem =) Yeah, I'm definitely gonna cop that Shibuya tomorrow. I almost bought it on iTunes...but it only came as a partial album, which sucked. But no worries, I'd rather get the physical with the 3 bonus tracks vs. the digital version.
Lucky YOU live da mainland. =(
All I can say is WOW. I can't believe something this dope slipped my radar. Thank You x infinity. There is no one favorite verse for me as all the wordplay hyped me up and gave me a lesson that involved politics, society, and Hip Hop. The visuals further enhanced my experience with its clever animations!
